Sattriya Dance at British Parliament

Assam’s rich cultural heritage reached a historic global stage as its classical Sattriya dance and Neo-Vaishnavite traditions were showcased at the British Parliament in London on 17 June 2026. Hosted under the initiative of senior British MP Bob Blackman, the event marked a proud moment for Assam and India.

A historic milestone was achieved as Dr. Pitambar Dev Goswami, the Satradhikar of Sri Sri Auniati Satra, Majuli, became the first Satradhikar from Assam to address the UK Parliament. The programme celebrated the legacy of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva and introduced Assam’s unique spiritual and cultural heritage to an international audience. 🇮🇳🇬🇧
